Here’s a little about us…
For Pitties Sake Rescue started as two volunteers at a local animal shelter that sought out the urgent need of rescue for pitty mix type dogs. Although we take primarily pitties, we like to help anything that is pitiful. After countless experiences with dogs getting the short end of the stick, we decided that we were going to advocate for these animals. In our small town, there is an overpopulation of pitties due to overbreeding and lack of education. After a couple years, we decided to start bringing behavioral dogs home and find suited homes for them. As of 2020 we are a registered private shelter, and non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
There were a couple of brutal experiences that have made us work as hard as we do. One of these experiences was with a dog named Luna. This young dog was failed by her owner and dropped at the shelter. Luna, a young and misunderstood pitty mix, yet again in a shelter. Luna was then failed several times by being placed into unfit homes. This dog suffered the consequence of human error and crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of three.
Our mission is to help pitties find their forever homes, and to educate the public. We sponsor many animals in our community to be spayed or neutered, and receive routine veterinary care.
